Bright Sparks is a Islington’s Re-use and Repair project.
Why do we do what we do?
Bright Sparks provides Islington residents with easy ways to re-use or recycle their old electrical items rather than putting them in the rubbish bin which causes carbon pollution and damages the environment.
We now also get household items left behind by Islington’s residents, including furniture, white goods, bric-a-brac and clothes! these were all items that were being sent to landfill or incinerated.
By collecting all these items, our volunteers and trainee can get a wide experience in processing, fixing and selling. All the re-useable items are tested, cleaned and sold in our shop on Seven Sisters Road, Finsbury Park.
Here’s a video one of our volunteers made:
Who makes this possible?
There are a few organisations involved in the creation and facilitation of Bright Sparks.
